The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) has plans to launch five more cars in a year, which includes the much-awaited Nano. Among others that will hit the road are the new Indigo, a crossover, Grande Punto and a people’s mover.
The Xenon, which is powered by a 2.2 diesel engine, has been produced and developed as a part of Tata Motors’ commercial vehicle portfolio.
The company officials declined to speak on the sales target for the vehicle. Commercial passenger car business unit vice-president S Krishnan said: “Since the Xenon is first of its kind in India we do not know how many units we will sale, though the upper limit will be 2,000 units per month.”
